istos srl officialy came to life around a grand table under a frescoed ceiling room in an Italian Notaio (notary) office in Scicli - a small town in the South-East corner of Sicily.

What do we do

istos creates online presence for you, your company, your ideas - our expertise lies in the intersection between website design, application development and online identity management.

We realise that the web is changing and simply putting together a few pages of presentation for your company or an online shop for your products is not enough. It is necessary to properly expose and manage your identity online. We can provide both the technological solutions as well as the practical know-how to create an identity that allows you to achieve your goals.

We make best use of the whole range of online services and tools that exist to help you get your message to wherever people prefer to spend their online time (including your own website and your own community). At the same time, we make it easy for you to follow these conversations and evaluate your return on investment through appropriate tools.

We do a lot of the above using the wonderful Drupal technology framework and CMS application and are active members of the community surrounding this open-source project.

Dr. Ronald Ashri, from Cyprus and married to an Italian, has more than 12 years of web application development expertise. He holds a BSc in Computer Systems Engineering and a PhD in Computer Science. He has authored and co-authored several books and articles on a range of distributed networking issues. Before moving to Sicily and embarking on the journey that led to the creation of Istos srl, Ronald was a Research Fellow at the University of Southampton collaborating with a variety of research departments, including BT Research Labs, SRI International and IT Innovation. Dott. Angelo Sangiorgio was born and grew up in Switzerland and has Sicilian parents. He completed a Foreign Languages degree at Pisa University and speaks Italian, English, German and Spanish fluently and knows French. Angelo worked for several years as a translator, in the sales and the promotion of online hotel booking websites before deciding to return to Sicily and manages our sales and marketing efforts. Dott.ssa Valentina Grassiccia holds a degree in Cultural and Language Mediation Studies from the University of Catania, is fluent in Italian, English and French, and has worked as an Italian language teacher in France - as well as teaching English and French in Italy. She is our online community expert - applying her expertise in languages and Social Media to help shape and promote our projects on the web.

Dott.ssa Luisa Pacifico was born and grew up in Germany, but has Italian parents. She completed a second- level foreign Languages and Cultures degree at Naples and Catania University and speaks fluently German, Italian, English and Spanish, and knows French. Before working for Istos srl, she jobbed for summer school-programmes around Great Britain and was translator for several international companies.

Dott. Andrea Poidomani was born and grew up in Modica, Sicily and holds a Computer Science degree from the University of Torino. Whilst studying for his undergraduate degree he also spend a year at the Politecnico of Madrid. After working for several years for IVECO srl as a technology consultant he has gained considerable experience in web development which he is further refining at Istos srl.
